In MOANA 2 the adventurous heroine embarks on a new journey that
deepens the bonds of friendship and cultural heritage. Picking up from the
original film released in 2016, we find Moana, Auli'i Cravalho, Moana (2016), continuing her role as the
chief of Motunui. After restoring the Heart of Te Fiti, Moana faces a new
challenge when the inhabitants of her island begin experiencing strange
phenomena related to the oceans they hold dear. A series of mysterious storms
threaten their way of life, pushing Moana once again onto the ocean waters,
accompanied by her loyal demi-god friend, Maui. Together, they must traverse
ancient waters, rekindle lost connections with other island communities, and
uncover secrets that lie hidden beneath the waves. The sequel masterfully
weaves in themes of community, environmental stewardship, and cultural pride
that resonates strongly in today's world, while reinforcing the significance of
Moana's journey in the first film.
Moana 2 beautifully
ties into the original story by expanding on Moana's identity as a leader and
explorer. The film showcases her growth and development from a young girl who
accepted her calling to restore Te Fiti's Heart to a wise chief guiding her
people. As in the first film, the strong camaraderie between Moana and Maui
remains a focal point, illustrating how their adventures continue to shape
their characters. This thematic continuity effectively honors the legacy of
"Moana" while introducing new narratives that explore both external
conflicts and internal growth.
The film features the returning
talents of esteemed voice actors: Auli'i Cravalho (Moana) is known for
her powerful voice and performance in the original Moana (2016) and All Together Now (2020).Dwayne Johnson (Maui), famously
recognized for his roles in Jumanji
Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and Fast
& Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019). Additionally, Alan
Tudyk (Heihei) has previously lent his voice inAladdin
(2019) and Ralph Break The Internet (2018). And, Rachel House (Tala)
is known for her roles in Godzilla x
Kong: The New Empire (2024) and (2016) and Cousins (2021).
The film's direction is led by David
G. Derrick Jr., who previously worked on titles: Moana (2016) and Frozen II
(2019). Co-Director is Jason Hand, known for Moana (2016)and Encanto (2021), adding depth to the
storytelling and animation. The screenplay is crafted by writers Dana Ledoux
Miller, People Like Us (2012), Kukini (2024)and Jared
Bush, Frozen (2017), Encanto (2021), bringing both their unique
talents to this new adventure.

Portraying Aretha Franklin, in RESPECT, Jennifer Hudson has set the stage for her next Oscar win. Not enough can be said of Hudson's performance and haunting renditions of countless Franklin hit songs or her gut-wrenching acting technique as she takes us through Aretha's life of heart-breaking love relationships, battles with depression, child abuse and alcohol addiction.
There was no "faking it" as RESPECThit the big screen in this Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer / MGM production. Chris Rock will take the stage in Studio 8H as host of “Saturday Night Live’s” 46th season premiere on Oct. 3, 2020. This will mark Rock’s third appearance as the show’s host. Also on the show, Megan Thee Stallion
will make her “SNL” musical guest debut. Her latest album, “Suga,” has
garnered over 900 million streams to date and spawned this summer’s
smash hit and 3x platinum single, “Savage.”
Rock was a SNL cast member from 1990-1993 and he previously
hosted the show in 1996 and 2014. The multiple Emmy and Grammy Award
winner, Rock, currently stars in the fourth installment of FX’s
critically acclaimed drama series “Fargo,” which launches tonight.
Ridley Scott’sRaised by Wolves will return on the impressive debut it made on HBO Max as the Top Performing Max Original since the platform’s launch. After
a striking debut on the streamer as the #1 performing Max original
since the platform’s launch, HBO Max has ordered a second season of Raised by Wolves, a serialized sci-fi series from master storyteller and filmmaker Ridley Scott (The Martian, Gladiator, Alien),
which has immersed fans into the rich, intricate world of Kepler 22-b.
The series, which debuted with three episodes on Sept. 3, has continued
to be a strong performer in its second week on the platform, growing its
audience by nearly 50% week over week.
Raised by Wolves centers on two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet. As the burgeoning colony of humans threatens to be torn apart by religious differences, the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task. Scott serves as an executive producer on the series and directed the first two episodes, marking his television series directorial debut for American audiences. The series was created by Aaron Guzikowski, acclaimed writer and visionary behind the highly lauded film, Prisoners.
"When I think of Raised by Wolves, I think of artistry; artistry in crafting a compelling storyline, artistry in the out-of-this-world production design, special effects and cinematography, artistry in our actor’s portrayals of these memorable characters, and artistry attached to the legendary work of Ridley Scott, Aaron Guzikowski and our phenomenal crew,” said Sarah Aubrey, head of HBO Max. “This chart-topping series beautifully weaves together Ridley’s hallmarks of sci-fi and horror while offering fans one of the most original storylines they’ve seen in some time. Critics have lauded the series, with IGN calling it “one of the most interesting sci-fi shows in years. Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal heaps praise on Amanda Collin (A Conspiracy of Faith, A Horrible Woman), who stars as Mother, as “one of the most memorable female/female-like space entity since Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley in “Alien”—or the alien in “Aliens.” Collin’s performance, alongside her character’s counterpart, Father, played by Abubakar Salim (Fortitude, Jamestown), has been underscored as “top-notch” by Forbes.
In addition to Collin and Salim, Raised by Wolves stars Winta McGrath (Aloft, Red Dog: True Blue), Niamh Algar (The Virtues, Calm With Horses), Jordan Loughran (The Infiltrator, Emerald City), Matias Varela (Narcos, Point Break), Felix Jamieson (Game of Thrones, The Ghost), Ethan Hazzard (The Long Song, Damned), Aasiya Shah (Call the Midwife, Unforgotten) Ivy Wong (Star Wars: Rogue One, Maleficent 2) and Travis Fimmel (Vikings).
