Peabody realizes that boys need running room and so invents the WABAC
machine as a birthday gift for Sherman. He and Sherman then go back in time to
see places and people like: ancient Rome,
Ben Franklin, Paul Revere , Robin Hood,
Daniel Boone, William Shakespeare, George Washington, Mona Lisa, Nero and Beethoven
to name just a few. Employing various
strategies, Peabody, assisted by Sherman, always finds a way to fix problems
though not always in a manner true to the historical record.
