Robin Williams,
the man who made us all laugh and cry has left us. Williams was a comic genius who first came
into the homes of millions of Americans starting in 1978 when he appeared as the
character, Mork from Ork on the hit TV show Mork & Mindy.
Throughout his career Williams kept us laughing as well as
crying, bringing us hit after hit including such movies as GOOD WILL HUNTING (1997, for which he won an
OSCAR in the category of Best Supporting Actor and THE FISHER KING (1991) – OSCAR
Nominated for Best Actor.
Other films by Williams included box office hits: DEAD POETS
SOCIETY (1989), GOOD MORNING VIETNAM (1987), INSOMNIA (2002), JUMANJI (1995),
the Disney classic ALADDIN (1992) and Lee Daniel’s THE BUTLER (2013), to name just a few. Upcoming films MERRY FRIGGIN’ CHRISTMAS and NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: SECRET OF THE TOMB (both now
in post-production) are slated for release later in 2014.
Nominated for 67 major awards and winning 54 of those awards
speaks volumes for this legendary man of comedy. He not only had the ability to make us laugh
but to reach deep into our hearts and souls and make us cry.
ComedyE.com salutes Robin Williams (1951-2014).
